Community Care (personal care)
Personal Care: Washing (strip wash)/bathing/showering, shaving, cleaning of teeth or dentures, grooming (washing, brushing/combing of hair), dressing, catheter bags and changing night and day bags as required, emptying/changing colostomy bags (change 2-piece systems only), assisting to use the toilet emptying commode
Medication Support: Ensuring service users take prescribed medication in accordance with policy and procedure for administration of medicines, observing that medication has been taken and recording the taking of medication in a Mar Chart
Support with meal preparation and feeding for the service users to a basic standard of cookery competence in line with the cultural and medical needs of the service user’s diet.
Support with housework and shopping: general tidying up, cleaning, support with shopping, pension collection and bill payment if included in care plan
